Trash Service

American Sanitation is now the trash removal company. If you require assistance with trash removal, please notify the HOA at ValleyParkOwnersAssociation@gmail.com Our trash day is still Monday, and the bins need to be outside by 7:00 a.m. please.

Trash/Recycling

If you forgot to put your Republic trash tote out or otherwise still have a Republic trash tote, then please put it at the curb, so I can collect them en masse to remove this thorn from my side. Additionally, if you're getting feedback from Republic that you can't cancel your recycling without contacting the HOA, then email the board at the address below. Be assured, that your recycling account is yours and not the HOA's. I'm not sure how the operators at Republic cannot understand this. The HOA is not involved with recycling. I personally had no issues canceling, but I'm hearing from multiple individuals that Republic is telling them to contact the HOA. I am waiting for a reply from Republic's new territorial executive, as the last executive is no longer with Republic. I know nearly half the 89 homes are ready to make the switch to American Sanitation recycling or simply don't have/want recycling. The current cost/data for American is below, however, the free Colorado state-managed program is still projected to start in October. I scheduled my Republic recycling to end on 28 September in time to start the new program in October. This is up to the individual, please make the best decision for you and your situation. CoS Tree Guidance

Tree Trimming (https://cityrulelookup.com/blog/landscaping-rules-in-colorado-springs-co) City Code requires trees to be kept trimmed to at least 14 feet of clearance over streets and 8 feet of clearance over sidewalks. Property owners are responsible for pruning the street trees and right-of-way vegetation adjoining their property to maintain these clearances. Key details: Clearance over streets: At least 14 feet. Clearance over sidewalks: At least 8 feet. Owner responsibility: Maintain street trees and right-of-way vegetation adjoining the property. Pruning program: Request-based; limited City Tree Pruning Program as budget allows. Contractor license: Tree Service License required (City Clerk). Vegetation that blocks the required street or sidewalk clearance is enforced as a code violation by Neighborhood Services / Forestry. The owner is notified to bring the tree into clearance; if not corrected, the City may prune the obstruction and may bill the cost to the owner. USPS Clustbox was removed 27May. Residents using this box must go to the Centennial Post Office located at 5001 Centennial Blvd for their mail, however, once per week the carrier will attempt to deliver mail to your door thanks to an owner request. *UPDATE--the postman stated he would be out of town for couple weeks, so likely nobody will do the 1/wk delivery.
